Michael W. Michelson
Mike joined KKR in 1981 and became a general partner in 1987. He is located in the California office. Besides HCA, Mike is also a Director of Biomet, Inc. and Jazz Pharmaceuticals. Mike graduated from Harvard College in 1973 and earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1976. He and his wife Ellen have two daughters and live in Atherton, California. He calls Springfield, Pennsylvania his hometown, and he cheers for the Philadelphia Eagles football team. Family is important to Mike, and he considers healthcare a meaningful family affair. He views hospitals as a place where patients and their family of loved ones together rely on crucial expertise to improve life. |

Mike is a Member of KKR Management LLC, the general partner of KKR & Co. L.P., since October 1, 2009. Before that, he was a member of the limited liability company which served as the general partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co LLP (KKR), a private equity firm with offices in New York, Menlo Park (California), London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
